Words like all in one, instant, ready made, or pre-packaged, are all intended to meet the demands of society today. Consumers have become so over loaded with balancing their work schedules, personal lives, and the needs of their families and friends that they look for the easiest way to accomplish the demands placed upon them. Manufacturers are cashing in on this by offering the all in one home theater system, also known as a home theater in a box. These systems have become extremely popular because the stress and confusion of purchasing the right components is already done. Everything you need is in the box.
Depending on how extravagant you would like your home theater setting to be will determine the expense and space required to achieve your goal. A basic set up requires a television, a receiver/amplifier, a DVD/VCR player, and a set of speakers. If your idea of a home theater involves the use of the whole room you may wish to add special lights for affect, theater seats or recliners, a place for refreshments and so on. For those who are in the beginning process a home theater in a box is the perfect choice to start. The boxed home theater supplies you with your receiver/amplifier, a DVD player, and speakers. You will still have to pick out your own television or monitor. A reasonably sized television such as a 27 inch is a suggested recommendation for those whom are just starting out. The price of a home theater in a box is considerably lower than what you could expect to pay for each component individually. There are several mid-quality boxed sets available for less than $200.00 . You do not have to be wealthy to be able to afford to purchase a home theater set. Boxed home theater systems are created to be hassle free. You do not have to be an expert to set it up. Included in the box is an installation manual with written directions that include pictures to assist you with connecting its components and sound configuration. They are designed to allow you to set your system up and get it running quickly. If you have a limited space to contain your home theater system, the home theater in a box is an excellent choice for you. They are designed to be compact and take up very little space. When considering a home theater system purchase keep in mind that the all in one systems do not meet the quality and output of those that are purchased individually piece by piece. This type of system is also not very versatile and are limited to its capabilities other than watching DVD movies or playing music CD's . The stereo included is not a true stereo system. The risk of having a complete system failure is also an issue to be considered. In most instances replacement parts or components are not available and you would have to replace the entire system as a result. If you are a serious sound conscious person you will more than likely be disappointed by an all in one system. Those who are looking to purchase a system that they can build upon as technology advances a new components become available should not purchase a home theater in a box. If you are looking for an inexpensive home theater system to see if the experience of a home theater is the right choice for you then an all in one system is a good place to start. However, keep in mind the end results that you are looking for, the quality of the output you desire, and the available space you have in which to complete it, before you make your decision. |
